The pump is fully automatic and will supply water as soon as shower/tap is opened. They are ideal for supplying instantaneous electric showers where mains water pressure is either inadequate or not available. In this case the pump should be connected to the cold water storage system supplying pressurised water to the shower unit.

However, unlike flow switch operated pumps, a negative head automatically supplying both hot and cold water under medium or high pressure to a shower or bathroom which, because of its position relative to the cold water storage system, does not benefit from gravity flow.
